Position Description: AINS, Inc. has an exciting and challenging position for a software requirements analyst (BA) on a large IT project providing application operations and maintenance, COTS integration and software development services and business solutions for more than 50 mission systems in the Federal Government. The candidate will be responsible for eliciting, documenting and managing the system requirements for a portfolio of applications, ensuring that the requirements are understood by stakeholders, are detailed for implementation by the development teams and are testable by the QA teams.  In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible the maintenance of a wide array of software documentation.  The work location is in Arlington, Virginia.

General roles & responsibilities: 

  • Interview and collaborate with stakeholders at multiple management levels to obtain requirements
  • Document and manage software requirements
  • Provide support for Developers, Test Team and client stakeholders in the creation and implementation of requirements
  • Develop and update software Documentation
  • Develop and update User Guides
  • Design Document/RTM drafts
  • Develop software Release Notes
  • Develop Process Analysis and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Provide Process and system diagrams using available tools
 Mandatory Skills:
  • At least five years of experience in software requirements analysis and documentation
  • Ability to work with all levels of client from end users to managers to obtain detailed system requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to facilitate working meetings, ask probing questions to elicit requirements and ability to understand the feedback to comprehend client responses to translate into documentable requirements. 
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Excellent writing skills to clearly document and communicate stakeholder requirements at various levels from high level to detailed.
  • Experience in creating system and user documentation is also required.
 Tools:
  • Microsoft Office tools including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with modeling tools such as Visio and requirements management tools such as Contour or Jira is a plus.   
Clearance:
  • US citizenship - Active DoD Secret Clearance is required

Responsibilities:

The Senior Technical Writer will take ownership of all documentation under a software product line, authoring complex technical documents including user manuals, installation guides, training materials, release notes and more. This individual will partner with other teams including software development, customer support, marketing, and technical support to understand and respond to customer documentation needs. The Senior Technical Writer will maintain and improve legacy documentation as well as develop new documents to support emerging features and applications.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Journalism or an English-related discipline
  • Experience authoring highly-technical documentation for software systems or IT project teams: 5 years
  • Experience with Adobe RoboHelp and the Microsoft Office suite (2010, 2013)
  • Ability to manage a full suite of documentation for a product line

Senior Microsoft Windows Active Directory Administrator - Active Secret Clearance

AINS has an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Microsoft Windows Active Directory Administrator with migration experience to support a Windows Active Directory migration from 2003/2008 to 2012 (or most recent version) on a federal services contract. The candidate will work closely with the Server Operations, application and middleware teams to develop, test and implement the migration strategy from 2003/2008 to 2012. The candidate will be responsible for producing the SOPs which will be used for the production deployment. Familiarity with scripting technologies such as VB and/or Powershell is desired. Familiarity with Riverbed SteelFusion hardware is desired. Work will be performed out of the client’s facilities in Arlington, VA and Washington DC.
 
Task Description: 
 
The candidate must be able to gather requirements and help architect, plan and implement system solutions for a Windows platform to meet customer requirements.  Experience with web servers, databases, networks, cabling, new installations and migrations, and security scanning tools is required.  Experience with deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2016 STIG.  
 
Off-shift coverage will be required for support of systems and/or scheduled maintenance and system upgrades. The ability to write shell scripts and utility programs for Windows system maintenance is also a plus. Experience with Riverbed SteelFusion is desired.
 
Candidate must have experience in development of implementation guides based on NIST 800-53 moderate and high impact baselines and also must have Federal customer experience and be able to obtain federal Top Secret level security clearance, if needed. To be successful in this position, the candidate must also display excellent teamwork skills, written and oral communication skills, and formal documentation skills.
 
Required skills/Level of Experience:
 
Position requires 7+ years of experience with the following: 

  • Experience with windows migrations and active directory upgrades
  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory to include implementation of GPOs to support the implementation of STIG settings on file and print services, DNS, Domain Controllers and application servers
  • Managing Windows systems, including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Window Server 2012, to include 2012 STIG deployment
  • Building, configuring, and managing Microsoft Windows servers in multi-tenant enterprise environments
  • Experience with Enterprise Backup software
  • Harden Windows operating systems to STIG compliance
  • Experience managing Active Directory architecture and replication in a multi domain environment
  • Experience with Active Directory design
  • Experience with large scale datacenter design and operations

Position requires 2-3 years of experience with the following:

  • Experience working with virtual infrastructure (i.e. VMWare) required
  • Experience utilizing VB/Powershell to automate common functions

Duties: Experienced in customer system and programming methods, techniques, and procedures. Ability to serve as principle web-based developer and provide primary design and functionality enhancements.  Ability to provide Webmaster functions, updates to website content, reevaluation and enhancement of website functionality, verifying website links, and verifying compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.  Experience in analyzing software upgrades and provide recommendations for implementation. Experience in management and engineering analysis services, assisting with DoD/DON statutory and regulatory requirements for IT portfolio management in all life cycle stages.  Experience in management with engineering services related to network system design, server consolidation, Information Assurance, and application development. The contractor shall have a working understanding of ColdFusion and/or Java development. The contractor shall have a background in Information Assurance techniques and tools and shall understand and be able to apply the complexities of the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).

Minimum Experience: High level of functional competency with IIS web applications
